Liuyang fireworks will light the sky of London at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, according to the Liuyang city's fireworks administration.
The London Olympic Games Organizing Committee (LOGOC) agreed in May this year to use Liuyang fireworks at the opening ceremony. A formal contract will be signed after a more detailed negotiation.
As early as October last year, LOGOC invited Liuyang fireworks manufacturers to join the fireworks preparations at the opening ceremony.
In late March this year, some Liuyang fireworks manufacturers, at the invitation of LOGOC, went to Britain for discussions about detailed cooperation.
Situated in Hunan Province, central China, Liuyang has a large number of fireworks manufacturers. It presented the world with a magnificent fireworks picture at the Beijing Olympics opening and closing ceremonies in 2008.
